Bachelors in Performing Arts (BPA) Music/ Dance

Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility: 10+2

Upper Age Limit: 27 Years

(*No age bar for female candidates

*Relaxation in age limit by

3 years for the SC/ST/OBC Candidates)

The degree course Bachelor of Music/ Dance is a three year regular course comprising of 6 Semesters. The students receive exposure of the Ragas, general knowledge of various styles and performance. Along with these they study History of Music and a brief theory of Contemporary Music production techniques.

The specialization can be obtained in Vocal/ Instrumental/ Dance. 

 

Career Paths

  • Can join as Teachers in School.(B.Ed is not required)
  • Universities (Govt./ Pvt) need Faculty for their Music and Dance department
  • At All India Radio/ other Radio Channels as Singer/ Rjs
  • Can participate in Reality Shows to become a professional Playback Singer/ Dancer/ Choreographer
  • Can become a Music Critic
  • Can work in Theater Production, Music Production, Musical Band, Dance Group.

The six years diploma course is divided into three major heads of two years each: PRATHAMA  l  MADHYAMA  l  VID

 

 

The course aims to provide good performance mastery in the specific branch of music styles.

Vocal Music

The Department is engaged in teaching Hindustani style of vocal music. This department offers uinique programme in Hindustani Khayal, Dhrupad and Dhamar. The department also meets the demands of the students who may be interested in neo-classical forms like Thumri, Dadra, Hori or lighter styles like: Geet, Ghazal, Bhajan etc.

 

Tabla & Pakhawaj

Department is engaged in teaching and research in Hindustani Percussion Instruments that includes Tabla and Pakhawaj. These courses have been designed to facilitate elaborate training and extensive exposure to the students.

 

Kathak Dance

The department is successfully boosting up interest for itself in the new generation and trying to be at the zenith of fame .

 

Bharatnatyam Dance

The Department has succeeded in creating awareness about Bharatnatyam, the most ancient and popular dance form of South India. music educators cum performers.

 

Courses for External Students

IKSV has specially designed music courses to give opportunities to those who have special aptitude for music but cannot join a regular music course.

Students trained in Classical Music and Dance under any guru can appear in the examination as private candidates. They will be provided with syllabus, and free classes for Languages (Hindi, English) and Environmental Studies.Along with the regular students, private students are also entitled for all kinds of cultural activities promoted by the college management.
